| Content | ●First-time Principal Investigators (PIs) and research personnel listed in the proposal who are executing an NSTC project for the first time: Within the three years prior to the date the institution submits the research project application to the Council, these individuals must complete at least six hours of academic ethics education course training and submit relevant certificates to the applying institution. ●First-time research personnel hired after the project has started: Within three months from the start date of their employment, these individuals must submit certificates of completion for at least six hours of academic ethics education course training to the applying institution for its records. |
●Students applying for research projects: Prior to the date the institution submits the research project application to the Council, these students must complete at least six hours of academic ethics education course training and submit relevant certificates to the applying institution. | ●New faculty and researchers must complete six hours of academic ethics education training (hereinafter referred to as "Ethics Education") within one year of their appointment start date and obtain a training certificate issued by the organizing unit for future reference. II. Channels for Obtaining Academic Ethics Training Hours for NYCU Faculty and Researchers:
(I)According to Article 4 of the guidelines, faculty and researchers can obtain training hours through:
OAERI Activities: Events organized by the Office of Academic Ethics and Research Integrity.
Approved Unit Activities: Courses endorsed by the OAERI.
AREE Courses: Online courses from the Ministry of Education's Taiwan Academic Research Ethics Education Resource Center.
Workshops/Seminars: Related domestic or international events.
Other Relevant Training: Other applicable academic ethics programs.
(II)Registration and Login Procedures for the Ministry of Education's "Center for Taiwan Academic Research Ethics Education" (AREE) Website:
Course/Training Affairs for Faculty, Medical Personnel, Researchers, and Full-time/Part-time Assistants

1. Implementation Methods (pursuant to Article 3 of the Guidelines):
.Course Nature: The "Student Academic and Research Ethics Education Course" (hereinafter referred to as "the Course") is a mandatory 0-credit course conducted via online instruction. The content consists of 18 core modules totaling 6 hours.
.Requirement: Students must complete the Course on the Center for Taiwan Academic Research Ethics Education (AREE) platform and pass the final exam before the end of their second semester.
.Contingency (Late Completion):
-Undergraduate Students: Must complete the course before graduation to be eligible for their degree.
-Master's Students: Must complete the course prior to their degree examination (thesis defense).
-Doctoral Students: Must complete the course prior to their doctoral candidacy qualification examination.
2. Non-waiver Rule:
.Hours obtained through other channels may be accumulated for reference but cannot be used to waive the mandatory training hours required on the AREE platform.
