- About OAERI and ARIC
In order to build up institutional commitment to an academic ethical culture, promote academic ethics education, enhance the culture of research integrity and maintain the quality of good research, National Chiao Tung University has established the Office of Academic Ethics and Research Integrity (OAERI) since April 28, 2017. On February 1, 2021, National Chiao Tung University merged with National Yang Ming University and set up the Academic and Research Integrity Committee (ARIC) to have broader oversight over the compliance issues and cases relating to research ethics.
- The Office of Academic Ethics and Research Integrity has responsibility over:
- Overall planning of academic ethics related mechanism on campus.
- Organizing activities, seminars or forums related to academic ethics and its related issues.
- Handling and referral of research misconduct allegations.
- Providing academic ethics consulting services.
- Holding cross-departmental promotional activities and meetings related to academic integrity.
- Assisting in convening of the Academic Research Integrity Committee meetings and related matters.
- Assisting the convener of the Academic Research Integrity Committee to deal with urgent cases.
- Other temporary tasks.
- The Academic Research Integrity Committee oversees the following:
- Making decisions on regulations of academic ethics.
- Handling academic ethics cases.
- Handling other matters related to academic ethics.
